In the afternoon of May 19, the delivery ceremony of 170 BRT city buses used for Zhengzhou’s BRT（Bus Rapid Transit）was held in Tengfei Square, Yutong Industrial Park. Tang Yuxiang, president of Yutong Group handed the “golden key” representing the BRT buses to Ba Zhengdong, general manger of Zhengzhou Public Transport Corporation. This event signifies that the construction of Zhengzhou’s BRT system has made significant progress and allows Zhengzhou citizens to travel by high-end BRT buses.

The 170 luxury BRT city buses delivered include 65 units of 18-meter articulated buses and 105 units of 12-meter low floor city buses. These two models are currently the highest level models of city buses and are especially tailored for the BRT bus stations in Zhengzhou, taking into account the actual road conditions and passenger loading capacity. The 18-meter bus can carry a maximum 200 passengers, which can effectively relieve traffic congestion on Zhengzhou’s public roads. Since some of the roads are relative narrow, the buses are designed with a kneeling function which can on one hand ensure easy turning in the city, on the other hand reduce the inertial force on passengers while turning. This reflects the fact that Yutong BRT buses are faster and more user-friendly. Meanwhile, the further development of the BRT system will continue to ease the traffic pressure in Zhengzhou.
