Zhengzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau conducted the on-site review of Zhengzhou Technical Progress Award 2014 on April 26. Yutong’s project, Key Technology R & D platform of Power System of Fuel-saving and New Energy Buses, was unanimously approved by all 19 judges and was granted the first prize of technical progress of Zhengzhou. This is the first technical award Yutong obtained in 2014 and also the third province and city-level award Yutong has been granted in terms of fuel-saving and new energy bus area.

The project has made innovative achievements in five aspects, namely power system construction and its modular configuration technology, integration technology of electric drive system, integration technology of on-board power supply system, control technology of whole vehicles and overall energy-saving technology of whole vehicles, which broke through the bottleneck of powertrain system, power supply technology and control & fuel-saving technology, forming Yutong’s powertrain system platform of fuel-saving and new energy buses which is a non-AMT technology and suitable for China’s national conditions. 

Up to now, Yutong’s new energy buses have obtained 71 product registrations and 20 patents. Meanwhile, totally 6,561 Yutong’s new energy buses have been delivered to 54 cities with the sales volume ranked first in the industry. In 2013, the market share reached 29.34% and the turnover exceeded 5 billion yuan, which also greatly promoted the development of the industry of related components.
